For once a daylight update – and the units are being placed into their correct positions The bad news from the installers on Friday was the floor is not level and from end to end there is a difference on 47m/m. This is unfortunate as I always fancied a snooker table…. The rest of the kitchen is ready for install on Monday So progress should be swift – more updates to follow.
The last couple of days and seen slow and steady progress. A few before and after photos to show. And behind the cooker…. The wall behind the fridge has has the treatment too ..and most importantly the kitchen units and all the other stuff have arrived. Tomorrow (Friday) should see the units start to come together – should be fun !
Day One Impressively the guys showed up just after eight this morning – and surveyed the empty shell of the kitchen before bashing nine bells out of it. Good work was achieved around the utility room and cooker – although there was a casualty – the utility room light which was shattered like a spicy popadum on a Friday night at the Raj – minus the argument over the end of evening bill. And so the two year wait is now over and Sunday was mainly spent packing the kitchen up ready for the ripout on Monday. It’s quite amazing how much crap kitchen stuff we found – too many unused ‘cookie-cutters’ and more cake tins than Mcvitte’s. Nigella would have had a field day. In order to survive the kitchen ripout – cooking essentials have been setup next door (the TV room not the neighbours!) and include a kettle, microwave and breakfast cereals.
